Autumn Activities From the end of September to the middle of December there are many seasonal changes. Many fruits are ready for harvesting and berry and apple-picking along scenic walks are popular. The air is clear, giving good views and the beautiful golden leaves create a stunning visual impact. There are many and varied fungi to be found. This is the end of the fishing and the start of the shooting season. The deer start to rut and some animals, such as hares, change their coats for winter white. This is the beginning of hibernation.
